Drug Management Program
Drug management programs (DMPs) are used to minimize the unnecessary use of frequently abused drugs (FADs). The goal of DMPs is to address overutilization of FADs while maintaining access when medically necessary. The structure of DMPs may vary, however the end-to-end process includes initial member identification to the outcome management. DMPs encompass multi-faceted processes that have varying components of data analysis requiring whole-member views incorporating information from, but not limited to, case management, member correspondence, medication therapy management, coverage determinations, appeals, grievances, adjudication, and eligibility groups. FutureRx’s DMP solution integrates needed functions to effectively and efficiently streamline the program’s maintenance and administration.
